To create refuges of native diversity, we carefully choose the plants we suppress, and the plants we introduce. Meanwhile, without any intervention, the pollinators these plants rely on just show up. In this presentation David will introduce some of the common floral visitors that you can expect to see in your Ann Arbor garden. He will also report on what was learned in the 2026 citizen science study of pollinator ecology in Washtenaw County.
David Cappaert is a local entomologist, educator, and photographer. His primary focus is the taxonomy of bees, and the creation of ID resources for non-specialists.
